Early Life and EducationAbu Zayd Abd al-Rahman ibn Muhammad, known as Ibn Khaldun, was born in present-day Tunisia in 1332 CE.
His family had emigrated from Andalusia and was deeply rooted in Islamic scholarship. Ibn Khaldun immersed himself in the study of the Quran, hadith (Prophet Muhammad's sayings), law, grammar, and poetry.
Political Career and Diplomatic Missions
After serving under Sultan Abu-Inan in Fes, Ibn Khaldun fled to Spain in 1362 due to court intrigues.
